Deli meat recalled for bacteria

FORT MYERS: Around 380,000 pounds of deli meat products that may be contaminated with bacteria have been recalled nationwide.

The meat was used in sandwiches sold under the Walmart's Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches brand.

The deli products, made at Zemco Industries -- a division of Tyson Foods in Buffalo, New York -- may be contaminated with Listeria, a potentially deadly disease with symptoms like fever, severe headache, and nausea. (Click here to view the recall)

The recalled packages have "use by" dates ranging from August 20, 2010 to September 10, 2010.

The products subject to recall include:

• 25.5-pound cases of "Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches BLACK FOREST HAM With Natural Juices Coated with Caramel Color" with the number 17800 1300.
• 28.49-pound cases of "Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches HOT HAM, HARD SALAMI, PEPPERONI, SANDWICH PEPPERS" with the number 17803 1300.
• 32.67-pound cases of "Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches VIRGINIA BRAND HAM With Natural Juices, MADE IN NEW YORK, FULLY COOKED BACON, SANDWICH PICKLES, SANDWICH PEPPERS" with the number 17804 1300.
• 25.5-pound cases of "Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches ANGUS ROAST BEEF Coated with Caramel Color" with the number 17805 1300.

Hurricane Danielle gaining strength

Danielle became a hurricane yesterday at 5pm and looks pretty impressive on satellite imagery this morning.

With warm water and little wind shear to inhibit further development of this system, Danielle could well be on the way to becoming a major hurricane later today.

Danielle is quickly moving to the west-northwest with a turn to the northwest expected this afternoon.

At 4 a.m., the storm centered near 15.9N 44.6W, with winds of 100 mph.

Hurricane Danielle is still on track to take a turn to the north staying in the Atlantic with a possible threat to Bermuda by the weekend.

Another tropical wave behind Danielle will likely develop into a storm in the next couple of days.

When it does develop, it will get the name Earl.

The National Hurricane Center has given this area a 70% chance for development in the next 48 hours.

Long range forecasts for this storm want to take it on a path similar to Danielle, turning to the north in the mid-Atlantic.

We'll see if the trough that is helps to lift Danielle to the north will hold on to turn this one, too.
